Tanjila Islam is the CEO & Founder of TigerTrade.  An international trade expert and economic development specialist, Tanjila designed and managed large-scale trade promotion and private sector development programs for clients such as the World Bank and the U.S. Agency for International Development throughout South and Southeast Asia. She has facilitated multi-million dollar trade deals and organized international trade fairs in countries such as Afghanistan, Indonesia, and Bangladesh.

Not your typical economist, Tanjila’s adventures in global trade inspired her to create TigerTrade in order to bring international trade on-line.  Through TigerTrade’s matching algorithm, companies around the world can now access competitive products from new markets and grow their business through global trade.
Tanjila is also an Adjunct Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology where she teaches courses on International Trade and Global Sourcing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Columbia College, a Master’s in International Affairs (M.I.A.) in International Economic Policy from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs; and a Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Near Eastern Studies from New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Tanjila speaks English, Arabic, Bengali and Spanish.

At TigerTrade, Lisa’s knowledge and ambition are put to good use. With a background in specialized apparel sales and moving excess inventory, she is perfectly suited to help buyers and sellers, including the largest and most respected brands across America.

From Lisa’s first business venture at 26 – a wedding apparel company which she ran for over a decade – to her 15-year-role as Vice President of Special Sales at Tommy Hilfiger, Lisa has proved herself as a trusted expert in strategic, innovative ways to move inventory. At Hilfiger, Lisa oversaw the off-price sales division, producing an average revenue of $140 million a year. She also oversaw special cut programs for the off-price retailers across all divisions, initiating creative collaborations with design, merchandising, production, finance and distribution departments, and worked with Tommy Hilfiger’s outlet and retail division on practical and inventive solutions to move inventory. Lisa was awarded the leadership of the Hilfiger’s corporate/college business, for which she created pioneering programs.

A force in the industry, Lisa has a background in entrepreneurial consulting, specializing in liquidation of product through off-price channels. She has also worked as Vice President of sales, accessories, for MoDA – The Modern Design Academy. She has an Associate’s Degree from the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM) in New York City.

Gregory Garvin

Marketing Manager

Gregory is responsible for the marketing and public relations strategy for TigerTrade. He has run his own marketing company, traveled the world developing products and marketing strategies for corporations and small businesses, worked in a boutique advertising agency focused on bringing Japanese products to the American market, and worked in Congressional & Public Relations for the federal government in Washington, DC. He comes to TigerTrade with almost 20-years experience in marketing and public relations management.

Marketing Manager, Gregory Garvin, has over 20 years of marketing and communications experience. Working in wholesale, retail and manufacturing of fashion garments, footwear, embroidery, digitizing and machines to facilitate high quality design work.
